The traditional Japanese pattern was originally designed during the Heian period and spread among aristocrats.
Many of the patterns are arranged regularly and the motifs are nature, and if you know the name and origin, you can see that they have been used with auspiciousness and a wish for happiness.
The traditional pattern is a pattern unique to Japan that is full of Japanese aesthetics and sensibility.
Even now, after hundreds of years, it is still used in various things as it was at that time.
 
The Tatsugo pattern happened to be one when the Satsuma domain (in the late Edo period) ordered "Give a Oshima Tsumugi that best expression of Amami Oshima goodness."
A designer was looking at the garden on a moonlit night. The gold hub of Tatsugo started by stylizing the mysterious beauty of the moment when it tried to transfer to the lush cycad leaves while shining its spine with the moonlight. After that, it became popular, and the villagers competed to design the back pattern of the hub and the leaves of the cycad, and then added the beautiful natural climate of Amami Oshima abstractly to continue making mud-dyed Oshima tsumugi. Around 1907, this mud-dyed Oshima Tsumugi was named "Tatsugo pattern" from the name of the village where it was made.
